New Single
Silhouettes floats along on a gently catchy guitar riff beautifully mirrored by the bass, and with light-touch syncopation from the drums. The vocals are a warm zephyr… imbued with the kind of shimmer you get from heat haze on a summer’s day.
If this is what the band are achieving at this end of their career then there can be only great things ahead for them.
JoyzineYet another stepping up of creative gear by Project Overload who tend to do so with each move they make. Superb as it is, the exciting thing is knowing how many more heights they have before them.
Hot Music LiveI’m loving the laid back vibe and Emily’s ethereal vocals, all meshing together to create a great sound that reminds me of summer.
Coventry ObserverThe tempo, the riff, the vocals all gel together so harmoniously. Silhouettes is bright and breezy, and delights with each new listen. Go grab an ice cream and listen.
Nuts on the Radio (8-Tracks Winner)A jangle pop masterclass.

Record Store Day Gig
Honoured to be playing at the fantastic Just Dropped In Records in Fargo as part of this year's Record Store Day celebrations on Saturday 12 April. We're supporting the most excellent Plum Jr from Bristol and Sleap-E from Italy - and it's free :)
Parking is off Far Gosford Street or off All Saints Lane.

We Went Pop at Leicesterval
Was a massive pleasure to play the Indiepop Weekender at the Firebug in Leicester at the beginning of March. Fantastic venue, superb bands and a really lovely crowd. Thanks to Simon at Sweeping the Nation for asking us. Book early for 2026 (tickets fly...)
Thanks to Geoffrey Head and Robin Halls for the photos.

New Merch!
As seen at our recent gigs, here's your chance to get hold of some Project Overload merch and help support the recording for album #2. New-design Silhouettes t-shirts in multiple colours, a badge pack and New Beginnings on CD. We might throw in some free stickers, too :)
Doubling Up for the Tin Fundraiser
We owe everything to the Tin Music and Arts. It's our spiritual (and actual) home so we were thrilled to play at a fundraising gig at the end of Feb with The Upsiders, Loophole and Luminae.
Overload on Orbit
Really pleased to be featured on the BBC Orbit website dedicated to uncovering new tracks and undiscovered artists. "No algorithms, no genres and no personalisation – listen to the best new music samples and tune into what sounds good."

Silhouettes Waiting to be Found...
Streaming everywhere from 14 February is Silhouettes, our new single and the first release from our sessions for album #2. Recorded at Studio Subwuf with Mason Le Long, it's the sound of nature springing into life, a poem of gentle beginnings and a pop song without a chorus.
Presave it now and hear it streaming on BBC Introducing West Mids & Warwickshire (about 40 minutes in).
Banbury on a Friday
At the end of January we added Oxfordshire to the list of places we’ve played with a mammoth 24-song set at the fantastic Also Known As lounge bar in Banbury. Lovely venue, friendly people and great pizzas - a strong recommend from us if you're in the area. Here we are adding our name to the stage like The 1975 did before us...

Back to Brum
Thanks to the Catapult Club for having us at the Rainbow for our first back-to-back gigs, after playing the Tin the night before.
Setlist: Wildfire / Nightmare / Strokes / Straight In / Society's Standards / Groovy / Messy / Silhouettes /Second Chance.

Best New Local Artist!
We're surprised and thrilled to have been named Best New Local Artist by Pete Chambers in the Coventry Observer. A perfect end to an amazing 2024 for us. Thanks to everyone who listened to the songs, bought the record or came to see us this year x
Session #2 for Album #2
Another day in the studio with Mason working on tracks for the second album. Here's a sneak peak of Wildfire and Silhouettes.
Five Went to the Rainbow

Thanks to the Future Sound Project for inviting us back to Brum in November for our debut at the Rainbow in Digbeth, supporting the Teals.
Back in Birmingham
Our second Birmingham gig and the first one at the Sunflower Lounge, with Eyesore and the Jinx, and Supersonic Fuzz Gun.
Album #2 Taking Shape...

We've started recording tracks for our second album with Mason Le Long at Studio Subwuf. So far we've worked on Silhouettes (aka Lucas's Song, now with synths and glockenspiel), Groovy, Straight In and Wildfire. Lots more to come :)
Fargo Big Birthday Bash

Had a blast playing at Fargo Village's 10th Birthday celebrations with our friends Batsch and Duck Thieves, and the marvellous Primitives.
Many thanks to Joe Colombi for putting us on and to Sammy Borras for the spectacular illustration of us on stage.
First Time in Birmingham...

Headline Gig at the Arches
We made our debut at the Arches in Coventry in September with a great bill of local bands. Our second time sharing a stage with the excellent Otto and the Dark and Cloudbase.

Summer Festival Part 2: Lakefest
We came straight back from our summer holidays to play the lovely Lakefest and it was a hot one! A great atmosphere and friendly crew, and the furthest so far we've played from Cov.

On the Big Stage (and the Big Screen)
Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Godiva Festival. We had a great time playing to a brilliant audience and it was cool to see quite a few official Project Overload t-shirts in the crowd!
We're taking a break over the summer but we'll be back in September with some more gigs. Stay tuned for news about new music, too...

Nah Then: Our First Podcast
Had a great time chatting to Alex on the Nah Then Podcast about how we met, how we write, new songs, playing Godiva Festival, our favourite music and what's next for the band. Listen in on your usual podcast app or via Acast, or check out the video below.
Radio PO
Thanks to Ricky G and Hillz FM for having us on for an hour of Project Overload (including the first radio play of Lucas's Song). We got the chance to pick the playlist so chose Lose Yourself by Eminem, Let Down by Radiohead, Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish and When the Sun Hits by Slowdive.

Never Mind the Blokes...
Loved being part of a celebration of female-fronted bands at the HMV Empire alongside Bar Pandora, Vamoosery, Shanghai Hostage and Chrissie Dux. Review here.

On Commonground...
Really enjoyed playing Commonground for the first time alongside the excellent Willow Taiwo and the mighty Caroline Bomb (check out their debut EP here).

We're Playing Lakefest!
Amazed to have reached the Road to Lakefest semifinals! Thanks for all your support for the public vote. This means we have an invite to play Lakefest in August.
We Win Godiva Calling!
We won the Alternative category of Godiva Calling! 🤯 Can't quite believe it. Massive congrats to Yes Princess, Otto and the Dark, and HomeBread, who were all amazing. Thanks to everyone for all the support and see you at Godiva this summer.
